day three

Exercising has been going well and feeling good, though I didn't get to the fitness center today. I'll do a little more tomorrow, to try and make up for it.

Today I made a little "ice cream," by mashing two bananas, a teaspoon of honey, chopped raw pistachios, and cinnamon and tossing it in the freezer. After an hour I stirred it around, and in another hour it was done. Tasty, not quite like ice cream but it satisfies the craving for something sweet.

I did cheat a little the other day, and had a slice of pizza at a charity lock-in in the main building. not so good! But I figure that since it was a special event, it's not so bad either. My other option was not to eat, go to bed hungry, and wake up starving to go to breakfast. Which would be worse.

Tonight I think I'll do an old Tae Bo video, watch a movie, and drink some nice tea before bed. Tomorrow I have some work to do with a partner for Discrete, one of the classes I'm not doing so hot in.

I've been finding a lot of benefits t having a shaved head:
  • It takes, like, 4 minutes to shower. Then 30 seconds to get dry.
  • Getting ready in the morning, I don't have to worry about my hair--which means more time for makeup!
  • It feels nice to go swimming without you hair getting stuck to your face.
  • Rubbing it feels good, all velvety.
The other night, at the lock-in, a few mroe people got their heads shaved. It was a little eerie to see a big group of teenagers, all bald, together. But, it was also great--we raised over $7,000 dollars for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. A few girls on the board got up on stage in the auditorium and sang--I am not my hair, by India Arie. It was so pretty! And appropriate, and a good message and all that.

For most of the lock-in, they played different songs with "shine" in the title/lyrics. Cute! And then later, we watched Catch Me if You Can--which I really enjoyed, even though I though I wouldn't.

So I'm feeling goo about the diet and exercise, and may or may not have lost one pound during the last three days. Nice! Hopefully I can keep it up.

My Old Dirty Life

I weigh 266 pounds, I'm 5 feet 4 inches and 16 years old. I want, over the course of however-damn-long-it-takes, to get down to my ideal weight of 130-140 pounds.

I also want to improve my grades--I have lots of B's and C's, and want to get those to A's and B's. College is looming. I'm a junior in high school, and these grades matter.

So. I'm gonna diet, exercise, and study. My big three.

The diet is simple: raw vegan as much as possible, low calorie, low fat, unprocessed. Lots of spinach, mushrooms, avocados, fruits, more veggies. They're healthy! They taste good!

I'll be drinking lots of tea, trying a solution of apple cider vinegar and water, and generally being very careful with what I eat and drink. Because I am human, and I am guaranteed to slip up a couple times, I'm going to allow myself one small indulgence each day--whether it's a packet of sugar in my tea, or a little dressing on my salad.

But just one.

So let's see how this goes.
